Patrick Allen is an award winning teacher and author based in Crawley, West Sussex, where he works as an Advanced Skills Teacher, Chair of Arts and Head of Music at Ifield Communty College.

He is the winner of the TES Schoolbook Award, a Guardian Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School, and has provided training and outreach work for education authorities, universities, conservatoires and schools all over the UK.

His publications are a mainstay of many music departments in the UK, and are used right across the English speaking world.

Patrick also directs one of the UK's leading youth choirs, described by Gillian Dibden at the 2010 National Festival of Music for Youth as "School Music at its best"
